Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners, on Thursday, acted on the following items:

• Approved the reappointment of Richard E. Forgay II of Lansford to a four-year term on the Carbon County Railroad Commission. The term expires on Sept. 1, 2024.

• Approved the appointment of Zach Gilbert as a county EMA volunteer deputy.

• Approved an amendment to the agreement with Zelenkofske Axelrod LLC for financial consulting services for 2020 increasing the not to exceed fee from $87,500 to $187,500 due to additional services related to the county’s COVID-19 relief block grant. This amendment replaces the amendment approved June 25.

• Approved an agreement with Penn Medical Group of Tamaqua to provide medical services at the Carbon County Correctional Facility from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2022, at a quoted price of $55,000 per year.

• Approved a contract with attorney Cynthia A. Hatton of Lehighton and the Carbon County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Office for the provision of legal services in the domestic relations office as required under the IV-D Cooperative agreement. The term of the agreement is from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2025, at a rate of $125 per hour for services rendered.

• Approved an agreement with the county sheriff’s office for serving bench warrants, personal service as needed and other services as required by the IV-D Cooperative agreement and to provide security services for the domestic relations office building and staff. The term of the agreement is from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2025.
