State police at Hazleton reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 8:16 p.m. on Sept. 22 along Route 93 in Banks Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Sara G. Heister, 25, of Weatherly, was driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata northbound when she swerved to avoid an animal on the roadway. Her vehicle struck the rear of a 2019 Hyundai Kona, legally parked along the side of the road. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and had to be towed.

Heister, who was not injured, was cited for the crash.
