A trick-or-treat night will occur in Lehighton this year.

Mayor Clark Ritter said it will be held on Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. and will be for Lehighton residents only.

“Everybody will practice proper protocol,” he said.

Ryan Sauders, a member of the borough council, said he is pleased with the mayor’s decision not to cancel the event as some other towns have.

“You’re all wearing masks anyway,” Sauders said. “I’m in favor of it.”

There was uncertainty about trick-or-treat night especially since the annual Lehighton Area Halloween Parade, which has become an annual staple in the town for decades, was canceled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
