WALNUTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL

Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Approved an invoice from Asphalt Maintenance Solutions in the amount of $36,198, to be paid for from the liquid fuels account.

• Agreed to purchase a John Deere tractor with plow and snowblower in the amount of $4,800 to come out of the borough’s 2021 budget.

• Agreed to purchase a salt spreader for the 2003 freightliner in the amount of $3,800, which was in this year’s budget.

• Approved a 25-cent raise in salary for the secretary of the police department.

• Agreed to purchase 100 yards of playground mulch, which has been budgeted.

• Agreed to sell the a 1999 Elgin street sweeper.

• Agreed to sell an old lawn tractor with plow and snowblower on Municibid.

• Approved the 2021 financial requirement and Minimal Municipal Obligation for the police and borough pension plan (totals will be in budget).

• Granted a waiver requiring a traffic impact study, as well as conditional approval for a land development plan, for a 12,000-square-foot building for a seamless gutter business on a vacant lot north of the former Terrace Restaurant.

• Approved a minor lot line adjustment at 223 S. Canal St. between the adjoining residential lots. The borough’s planning commission recommended conditional approval at it July 16 meeting.

• Accepted the letter of resignation from Dennis Green from the streets department.

• Approved a letter from the Walnutport Authority accepting Dennis Green’s resignation, and to appoint Dennis Rehrig to the board along with adjusting terms.

• Announced that council’s next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
