Mahoning Township supervisors took the following action on Wednesday:
• Granted conditional use approval to the Mahoning Township Municipal Authority to use property located at the southeast intersection of Troxell’s Road and Route 443 as a sewage pump station and related structures and facilities.
• Announced the township has received seven applications for part-time police officers. The police committee and police chief will review them and make its selection for interviews from there.
• Granted permission to utilize a part-time worker to assist the township’s road department on a dirt and gravel road project.
• Adopted a resolution for the minimum municipal obligation for the Mahoning Township nonuniform pension plan for the year 2021 in the amount of $23,462.
• Adopted a resolution for the minimum municipal obligation for the Mahoning Township police pension plan for the year 2021 in the amount of $99,464.
• Approved the Borough of Lehighton’s request to volunteer the use of Mahoning Township’s grader to finish the Baer Memorial Park Grant Project.
• Agreed to sign the general application form for Community Development Block Grant for the year 2020.
• Approved two trustees provided by PSATS to serve as municipal trust ballot for election of trustees.
• Extended a declaration of disaster emergency due to COVID-19 until Dec. 31.
