Wednesday update: 931 new COVID cases, total 141,290

The Pennsylvania Department of Health Wednesday that there are 931 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 141,290.

There are 7,805 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 14 new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,499 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,630 cases among employees, for a total of 26,129 at 948 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,262 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 9,945 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Locally, Carbon County remained at 432 positives, with 28 deaths.

Lehigh County has 5,329 cases, an increase of 22, with 345 deaths.

Luzerne County has 3,910 cases, an increase of 12, with 189 deaths.

Monroe County is reporting five new cases for a total of 1,742. There are 129 deaths.

Northampton has 4,186 cases, an increase of 10. There are 302 deaths.

Schuylkill County has four new cases for a total of 1,023 cases and 51 deaths.
