Tamaqua Police Log

The following reports were released by Tamaqua police.

• Kietchen Eaches, 38, of the 500 block of E. Elm Street, Tamaqua, is facing charges of defiant trespass, harassment and summary offense of disorderly conduct.

On July 28 at 9:54 p.m. police received a report from the county communications center that a male was trespassing at 53 E. Elm St. On scene the victim and a witness said Eaches was banging on the back door of the residence. It was noted on July 18 he was told to have no contact with anyone at that address. Charges were filed.

• Lyle Thatchel Jones, 24, and Brianna Marie Smith, both of E. Elm Street, Tamaqua, are facing charges. Jones has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Smith has been charged with simple assault, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and harassment.

On July 25 at 10:38 a.m. police responded to the Elm Street address for a domestic incident involving the two defendants. The investigation revealed that Smith had assaulted Jones during a dispute. Also, found inside the residence was marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• Andrew James Deibler, 39, of Telford, Montgomery County, is facing charges of firearm ownership-providing false information and unsworn falsification to authorities.

Based on information received from the state police, it was learned that Deibler attempted to purchase a gun at Ed’s Sports Shop, 308 W. Broad St. He is prohibited from purchasing firearms due to a drug arrest on Nov. 28, 2019. He also has other prior arrests for drug possession. When filling out the application for the firearm purchase, Deibler did not disclose his prior arrests.

• James Rolland, 55, of Tamaqua, is facing charges of criminal trespass, two counts.

On Aug. 5 the code officer for the borough condemned the property at 128 Schuylkill Ave., pursuant to an electric fire and other factors. The property was posted as condemned and uninhabitable with no trespassing.

On Aug. 7 at 5:40 p.m. officers responded to the property for a reported trespassing. Upon arrival Rolland was found inside the property. He was warned he was not allowed at the property and was transported to a friend’s. On Aug. 8 officers received a call from VA hotline that Rolland was at the residence in a distressed state. Police found Rolland inside the property. He stated he was homeless and had no place to go. He was then cited.
