The Colonial League on Monday tentatively approved phased in start dates for the upcoming fall sports season.

The announcement also meant that the league's cooperative schedule agreement with the Schuylkill League was delayed until 2021.

But the decision also allows schools who want to play earlier in non-league contests the opportunity to do so.

Golf will begin on Aug. 27, and tennis on Aug. 31.

Cross country will start on Sept. 11, while field hockey, volleyball and soccer will begin on Sept. 18.

Football will get underway on Sept. 25 with league contests.

The motion based on a 12-1 vote, with Northern Lehigh voting it down.
