A look back: Aug. 15, 2000

Schuylkill County Controller Gary Hornberger took another step forward in the ranks of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers during the 86th annual meeting last week at the Pocono Manor, being the unanimous choice of controllers around the state as the second vice president of the association.

He was welcomed to the new position by retiring association President Robert M. Crampsie, the Carbon County controller who headed the organization’s activities for the past year.

Hornberger said of particular interest to him in the upcoming year will be controller’s sessions on the surcharging and the mandated bidding process, as well as matters pertaining to the state’s Ethics Law.
