Northern Lehigh School Board, on an 8-0 vote with an abstention from Director Robin Distler, approved the following personnel matters this week:

• The retirement/resignations of EdithAnn Fella, elementary intervention coordinator, effective Oct. 2, Nancy Rehrig, Bookkeeper II, effective Jan. 15, 2021; and Sharon Sherman, confidential secretary to the superintendent, effective Nov. 20. Fella will retire from the district with 36 years of service, Rehrig with 37 years, and Sherman with 11 years.

• The resignation of Jeremy Battista, middle school science teacher, effective Aug. 7.

• The appointments of Ryan Cunningham, temporary professional employee, senior high school health & physical education teacher, $59,475; Damon Rex as temporary professional employee middle school health & physical education teacher, $60,375; Mariel Cordero-Ledesma, long-term substitute secondary Spanish teacher, $50,750; Samantha Lilly, long term substitute high school, special education teacher, $50,750; and Douglas Hunt, long term substitute, high school English teacher at a salary of Substitute Teacher Rate Days 1-30; Day 31 and beyond: $50,750 (termination date upon return of full-time teacher), all effective Aug. 25.

• The appointment of Allison Rosene, substitute secondary detention monitor, senior high school (work to be on an as-needed-basis, and compensation at a salary of $20 per hour worked); and Douglas Hunt as substitute English teacher, for the 2020-2021 school year.

• To continue the employment of Katelyn Hugo, Lisa Hoever, Valerie Marks, and Tara Marques as district wide permanent substitute teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. They will be paid a daily per diem rate of $120 and will receive district health benefits according to the Affordable Care Act regulations with co-payment amounts equivalent to that of district personnel.
