Touch of Home

Operation Touch of Home has announced with great regret that because of the continued COVID-19 pandemic and for the health and safety of all, that the 2020 Military Appreciation Dinner and Comedy Show slated for this year has been postponed to Sept. 25, 2021.

At the group’s July meeting the membership extended its thanks to Maria Bentzoni for her hard work and dedication for the grant which was received.

It was also decided that the officers and board of directors will remain for the coming program year as they serve now.

Pavilion party

The American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert is having a Party at the Pavilion from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday and Saturday. It is an open community event.

West End Pantry

The West End Pantry in Kunkletown will have a food distribution from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

It serves community families in need in the West End of Monroe County and the east end of Carbon County.

Confirmation Mass

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will have two Confirmation Masses this weekend. The first is at 5 p.m. Saturday; the second at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The Masses will be livestreamed.

Communion Sunday

Cornerstone Community Church, Kresgeville, will celebrate Communion Sunday this Sunday. Services are at 9 and 10:30 a.m.

The Voltage Youth Group is slated to meet from 6 to 8 p.m.

On Tuesday, the church has the Ladies Fellowship dinner from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the calendar.

Ross Supervisors

The Ross Township Board of Supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ross Township Municipal Building on Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg.

Chestnuthill Board

The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building in Brodheadsville. It is open to the public.

Guide announced

The Pocono Living Magazine for August/September has been released and includes a guide to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Blood drive

The next Miller-Keystone visit to the Western Pocono Community Library on Aug. 5 has several available appointments at this time.

American Legion Post 927 has announced two events for Aug. 15. They are the Post’s 101st anniversary and the SAL 5th annual clambake.

Purchased tickets include various foods, some beverages and a cash bar.
