Police: Man took victim’s clothes, threatened with bat

Tamaqua police have charged a man who threatened another with a baseball bat.

Quintin Sabol, 24, of 37 Market St., Tamaqua, has been charged with robbery-threat of serious harm; unlawful restraint; false imprisonment; theft ; and receiving stolen property of an incident at his residence at 2:50 p.m. March 22.

Police received a walk-in complaint concerning an incident at Sabol’s home. The victim said he was at the residence when Sabol began threatening him with a baseball bat and demanding he remove everything from his pockets. He also told the victim to remove his clothing while demanding money. The victim told Sabol he had no money. Sabol reportedly took the victim’s cellphone, hat, jeans and belt refusing to return them. He then called the victim’s mother and held the phone for more than two hours before the victim was able to leave the residence. Total loss of property was set at $350.

Based on this information police secured a warrant for Sabol’s arrest. He was later taken into custody on the warrant.
