Penn’s Peak announces Social Listening Series, rescheduled concerts

Penn’s Peak may have been hit hard when the coronavirus pandemic hit earlier this year, but the Jim Thorpe area music venue is not letting it get to them.

Krysta Fink, marketing manager at Penn’s Peak, said that after a few month hiatus, the venue has begun entertaining the public again.

“We just started back up with free, live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays,” Fink said.

The new “Social Listening Series,” which replaces the Peak’s summer deck parties this year, features a number of local artists, including Shellshocked Churchills on Friday and Mother Nature’s Son on Saturday. Both events begin at 6:30 p.m. and run until 9.

So what differences will patrons see?

For one, the events are limited to 250 people and will be held inside the concert hall. All guests are required to wear masks while entering, exiting and moving around in the venue, but can be removed once seated.

In addition, social distancing of 6 feet away from people not in your party will be observed and parties cannot be larger than eight people.

Concerts

As with many events this year, Penn’s Peak has also seen a number of concerts canceled or postponed.

“We are taking things day by day,” Fink said. “The safety of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance to us always.”

In the meantime, the venue staff has been hard at work rescheduling and putting guidelines in place that have been set by the state, CDC and Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association so that when larger events can be held, Penn’s Peak will be ready.

Tickets for shows that were postponed will be honored at the future show, so Penn’s Peak reminds all ticket holders to hold onto the original tickets.

Refunds are also available.

For shows that are canceled, patrons will automatically receive a refund if they paid by credit card. For tickets purchased at the Penn’s Peak box office or Roadie’s Restaurant, email, info@pennspeak.com.

“We wish we had a crystal ball and know when we would be back to holding concerts,” Fink said. “But for now, we hope that our loyal guests will come out and help us support our very talented local bands.”
