Masks required in Carbon County offices

If you are going to do any business at one of the Carbon County offices, you are required to wear a mask.

On Thursday, Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein announced that the county is instituting the mask policy, much in line with Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration’s new mandate on masks.

Nothstein said masks will be worn by all employees, and all visitors to any county-owned or leased facility are required to wear a mask to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

“We have to protect ourselves,” he said. “We have to protect the public.”

Nothstein urged everyone to follow the order.

“We have had an increase in cases, not too bad in the county here yet, but with tourism season and everyone coming in … we all have to follow the policy because the last thing any of us want to do is go back into yellow or even red.

“Be careful who you surround yourself with. Please follow the guidelines and we will enforce it here in the county.”
