A Lehigh County truck driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning. State police at Fogelsville said the crash occurred at 3:24 a.m. along Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township.

Troopers said Eddy J. Surinach, 32, of Allentown, was driving a Freightliner truck westbound in the right lane when he began to exit the interstate. The truck went onto the right shoulder and struck guide rail. After hitting the guide rail the truck continued west and struck a bridge abutment. After hitting the bridge abutment the truck became airborne and traveled across New Smithfield Road, overturned and struck an embankment with the top side of the truck.

Surinach was pronounced dead at the scene.
