An elderly female pedestrian was killed after she was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross the street this morning in Walnutport.

Walnutport Police Department said through a news release that the incident occurred at 7:53 a.m. Friday when the woman, 93, attempted to cross the 400 block of Main Street and was struck by a vehicle.

Northampton County coroner Zachary Lysek confirmed that the woman died as a result of the crash.

Lysek said the victim’s name was expected be released later today.

The incident remains under investigation by Walnutport Police Department and the Northampton County Coroner Office.
