A look back: June 20, 1993

“I’m having the time of my life,” said former Pennsylvania first lady Muriel Shapp during a visit to Jim Thorpe on Saturday.

Shapp, whose husband, Milton J., served as governor of the Keystone State between 1971 and 1979, took in some of the Laurel Festival of the Arts events as the guest of Floretta Mostovoy of Philadelphia, whose son, Marc, is the festival’s artistic director.

Shapp was in the audience at the Dimmick Memorial Library to witness the Wells Sisters’ program and earlier in the day attended the Wearable Art Fashion Show in the Josiah White Exhibition Center.
