The entrance ramp to Route 248 from Palmerton was closed Friday morning after a truck lost a tank it was carrying.

The incident occurred just before noon as the trucker was leaving Palmerton on Delaware Avenue with the 10,000-pound empty tank falling off the bed of the truck and striking the bridge carrying Route 248 over the ramp. The driver was not injured.

Palmerton police are investigating the incident.
