Northern Lehigh superintendent thanks community for support

Northern Lehigh School District is grateful to its community partners and individuals for the support they’ve given.

Superintendent Matthew J. Link at last week’s school board meeting thanked various businesses for their continued support of the district, and in particular, the entire Class of 2020 recently.

Link said the most updated list of donors includes the Northern Lehigh Education Foundation, Tri County Team Wear, Giant, Diamond Fire Company & Diamond Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Ballietsville Auto Service, Mr. & Mrs. James Oncheck, and Old Post Inn.

He said the Education Foundation “has been very supportive of our need for additional technology to support online learning.

“Most recently, they gave a donation of $4,500 for additional hot spots, and they continue to donate toward our Grab-n-Go meal program,” Link said. “So we’re truly blessed to have such an active and involved foundation.”

Additionally, Link said Tri-County Team Wear “kind of led the charge for the senior yard signs, along with the Diamond Fire Company and Diamond Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and also with Ballietsville Auto Service.

“They all donated generously to support our seniors with the gift bags and the yards signs and the banners that are out by the field hockey fence.”

Also, Link said Mr. and Mrs. James Oncheck “organized the banners that I’m sure you’ve seen on Main Street, congratulating. All of our seniors names are listed on those banners.”

Further, Link said that Giant Food Stores in Walnutport “again recently gave us a $1,300 donation toward our Grab-n-Go meal program, so again another business community partner that’s very supportive of what we’re doing for our students here.

“Very fortunate just to have relationships like that with individuals and businesses within our community.”

Lastly, Link said Old Post Inn “did put great gift bags together for each senior.”
