Pa. adds 1,207 new virus cases this weekend

The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight Sunday, that there are 506 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 75,592.

There are 5,943 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 12 new deaths from Saturday.

On Saturday, the DOH reported 701 additional positive cases of COVID-19 and an increase of 45 new deaths. Since Friday, Carbon County has added four cases for a total of 249. The death total remained level at 24.

Lehigh County added 29 cases, and now has a total of 3,858. Three deaths were reported for a total of 248.

Luzerne reported 20 cases, bringing the total to 2,793. Deaths remain at 157.

Monroe County has three new cases for a total of 1,338. Monroe’s death total is at 102.

Northampton has 15 new cases for a total of 3,151. Three new deaths have been reported for a total of 232.

In Schuylkill, three new cases bring the total to 656, with one new death for a total of 39.

There are 620 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases. There are 444,173 patients who have tested negative to date. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 16,131 resident cases of COVID-19, and 2,804 cases among employees, for a total of 18,935 at 615 distinct facilities in 45 counties. Out of our total deaths, 4,094 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. Approximately 5,729 of our total cases are in health care workers.
