Sacred Heart Church announces schedule

The Parish of Sacred Heart, Palmerton, continues to offer daily Mass, although privately due to the Pandemic.

Every Sunday at 10 a.m. the Sunday Liturgy is offered by the Rev. William Campion. This Sunday the homily will be offered by Msgr. Candreva. This celebration is live streamed via the Sacred Heart Facebook page.

The Church continues to be open Monday through Friday from noon to 3 p.m. for private prayer.

Confessions are heard by appointment and can be arranged by calling the rectory office at: 610-826-2335.

This Sunday is the Fifth Sunday of Easter and the readings encourage us to place our faith and trust in Jesus; a timely message as we continue to face the effects of the current pandemic. It is also Mother’s Day weekend and because so may will not be physically able to be with their mothers, Father Bill will conclude Mass this Sunday with a special blessing for all mothers.

Sacred Heart Parish extends congratulations to two of our parishioners who recently received a $1,000 Bishop Scholar Award as they plan to continue their education in a Catholic High School. Congratulations to Eva Schisler (who will be a freshman at Allentown Central Catholic High School) and Blake Morrow (who will be attending Bethlehem Catholic High School as a freshman).

Also, the church continues to encourage people to pray to the Rev. Walter Ciszek for his intercession during this pandemic to bring a cure, God willing, and restore health (spiritually, physically and socially) to our global family. Intercessory prayer is found at www.shcpalmerton.org.

Next Saturday, May 16, Bishop Schlert will ordain Phillip Maas to the Order of Deacon. The Liturgy will be live streamed beginning at 10:30 a.m., May 16, at www.ad-today.com.
