Dr. Dawn Mriss, owner of the Lehighton and St. Francis Animal Hospitals, motions toward her dog, Maverick, an English Labrador retriever, while speaking to the fourth grade classes at the Lehighton Elementary Center Tuesday afternoon. Maverick had one of his hind legs removed do to orthopedic reasons and gets around with the help of a wheelchair.
