Carbon County court — ARD

Three first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record his wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Placed were the following:

Tammy Hardin

, 49, of Passippany, New Jersey, was placed for a year on a charge of unauthorized use of a credit card. She was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge on June 3, 2019, for using the credit card of a person in Penn Forest Township Troopers said Hardin was working as a home health nurse for the victim at the time of the incident.

She was assessed $650 for the cost of the program.

Rebecca Marie Rhode

, 42, of Albrightsville, was placed for a year on a charge of retail theft. She was arrested by Mahoning Township police on Oct. 5, 2019, at the Walmart store.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.

Jose Manuel Robies Vazquez

, 25, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for a year on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Nov. 15, 2019, by state police at Fern Ridge following a vehicle stop along Route 903 in Jim Thorpe.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
