Historical Society receives grant for extermination treatments of invasive bee infestations of recreational facilities

The Northern Lehigh Historical Society recently applied for and received a grant of $1,000 for the Venture Group from the Mickley/Fravel Charitable Trust.

The grant will be applied toward the costs of the professional extermination treatments of invasive bee infestations of the Trout Run Covered Bridge and the Slatington Trailhead Pavilion.

The officers and members of the NLHS and Venture Group thank the Trust for their ongoing, generous support.

The NLHS meets at 7 p.m. on the last Wednesday of the month (except July and August) at Slatington Borough Hall.

It’s meetings are held in conjunction with the monthly meetings of the Venture Group, a coalition of local nonprofit and community organizations dedicated to the betterment of the Northern Lehigh area.
