Man wanted on multiple warrants faces more charges

A man wanted on multiple warrants has been charged with resisting arrest and other charges.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Shawn Leadbetter of the Palmerton Borough Police Department:

At 12:32 p.m. Dec. 13, Leadbetter was dispatched by the Carbon County Communications Center to the 400 block of Lehigh Avenue for a suspicious man sitting inside a silver vehicle with purple rims.

Police were told the man was Justin Treese, 36, who has no valid address, and that he has multiple warrants. He was described as a white man with numerous tattoos and brown hair.

Detective Kevin Buck and Leadbetter saw a man matching that description and asked him to get out of his vehicle. He told police his name was Ryan Hahn.

The man resisted arrest and a short foot pursuit ensued between Leadbetter, Buck and the man, later identified as Treese.

When police tried to take him into custody, he resisted, and Leadbetter sustained lacerations.

Treese had two active bench warrants for his arrest including a parole violation out of Bucks County for fleeing or attempting to elude police, and failure to appear for a violation out of Florida.

Treese faces charges of flight to avoid apprehension; resisting arrest; and false identification to law enforcement.

He was taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 straight bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton. His case was held for court in a preliminary hearing last week.
