A Code Red winter storm warning is in effect from 4 a.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Tuesday.

This will be a long duration storm with two main periods of winter weather. Conditions on Sunday are expected to consist of a mix of snow, sleet, and ice, with snow accumulations mainly 2 inches or less along with freezing rain. A lull in precipitation is possible Sunday evening. Most of the snow that is forecast is then expected to occur later Sunday night and Monday.

Tonight: Rain, freezing rain, and sleet before 1 a.m., then snow between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then rain and snow after 4 a.m. Low around 33. East wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Monday: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 7 a.m. High near 34. North wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Monday Night: A chance of snow before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
