Bethlehem Christmas events planned

This holiday season, experience “Christmas City, USA” like never before as Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites and ArtsQuest gear up for Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem and Historic Bethlehem’s “Couture Trees of Historic Bethlehem” exhibit across four historic buildings.

Now in its 27th year, Christkindlmarkt runs Friday trough Sunday; Nov. 29-Dec. 1; and Dec. 5-8, 12-15 and 29-22 at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks. The event features more than 125 artisans offering handmade works, as well as ice carving and glass blowing demonstrations, live holiday music and jolly, old St. Nicholas.

German ornament designer Käthe Wohlfarht is also back this year offering more than 2,000 nutcrackers, collectibles and handmade ornaments.

Visitors can take the Christmas City Trolley between Christkindlmarkt and historic downtown Bethlehem as they shop the market and discover beautiful Christmas trees inspired by fashion in the sixth annual “Couture Trees of Historic Bethlehem” exhibition open Friday through Jan. 12.

With “Couture Trees of Historic Bethlehem,” visitors see the world in a dazzling array of Christmas trees beautifully decorated by the Bethlehem Garden Club.

Journey through four HBMS historic sites where more than 20 trees are displayed with decorations inspired by famous fashion designers such as Dior, Chanel, Burberry, and more with corresponding purses, clutches, and handbags from “PURSEonality: A Stylish Handbag History.”

Admission to the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, 1810 Goundie House and Single Sisters’ House are included with the “Couture Trees of Historic Bethlehem” ticket.
