St. Luke’s chefs are back at Lehighton Farmers Market

The chefs are back, and are certain to whip something good up at the Lehighton Downtown Farmers Market.

Hosted by the Lehighton Downtown Initiative, the chefs of St. Luke’s will be on hand this Saturday at the market.

Joining the LDI for year three are Executive Chef Chris Lapallo from the Miners Campus, and Executive Chef Antonio Inzillo from the Gnaden Huetten Campus representing St. Luke’s and Metz Culinary Management.

The chefs are looking forward to working with the local farmers and vendors, shopping the market and doing a cooking demo with all who want to join in, according to Bambi Elsasser, treasurer of the LDI.

Elsasser said as part of their demonstration, the chefs will showcase a healthy 30-minute meal created with freshly grown produce from the local farmers.

“It is a fun day, starting with a shopping trip around the market,” Elsasser said. “The chefs give descriptions of some of the produce and how to prepare it.”

Elsasser noted that after the shopping trip, the chefs will prepare and explain what they are making, and that once completed, tasting is available.

The farmers market continues from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 12, with the exception of Christmas in July, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27.

For more information or to become a vendor, contact Elsasser at 610-509-6465 or email at LDILehighton@gmail.com.
