The Palmerton Memorial Park Pool will be holding its “Fun Day” on Sunday. Come to the pool and enjoy the day! Sunday hours are 1-8 p.m.

Holy Trinity News

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship service with Communion at 10:15 a.m. This is a Healing Service.

Park concert

Sunday’s Concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will be by the Palmerton Band. The concert is held in the Bandstand from 7-8:30 p.m. This concert is sponsored by a friend of the concert series. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of great music.

The Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in a case of inclement weather. There are no rain dates. There is no smoking or vaping allowed in the park.

Support group

The Carbon County Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, is an on going support group for parents, grandparents and adult siblings grieving the loss of a child, grandchild or sibling. The group will meet at 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmerton Community Ambulance building, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. For information call 484-719-6753.

Palmerton Area Library

There will be no reading programs the week of July Fourth at the Palmerton Area Library. The Friends of the Library will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a Kids Sewing Camp July 8, 9 and 10 from 2-3:30 p.m. Learn machine safety, hand and machine stitching basics and complete some fun beginner projects. You must bring your own sewing machine, foot pedal, power cord, bobbin and spool of thread. There is a cost payable to the instructor. For ages 8 and up. Please call the library at 610-826-3424 to sign up and for information.

Blue Mountain Fiber Guild

The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild explores all things related to fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, etc. The group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmerton Area Library.

Food pantry

The food pantry for Palmerton area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton on Friday. The CACPAC-sponsored pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.

The Palmerton Food Bank is always in need of canned goods, nonperishable food items and monetary donations. If you can help, please bring food items to any CACPAC member. Most area churches collect on a regular basis.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library form 6-8 p.m. Monday. This club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

Living Hope Lighthouse

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, will hold Illuminate Summer Camp July 11-18 from 6:30-8 p.m. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. for ages 5 to fifth grade. Come for games, lessons, music, and fun and discover the wonders of God through STEM. On the final night will be a closing synopsis and a cookout for the children and their families.
