A Schuylkill County man is facing charges for leaving four children unattended in a vehicle while he drank in a bar in Hazleton.

State police said Ismael Dominguez, 50, of Mahanoy City, is facing four counts each of recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of children; and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Troopers said on June 6 Dominguez went to Biagio’s bar on Broad Street in Hazleton with four juveniles, ages 10, 11, 12 and 14. He left the children in the vehicle for at least 45 minutes next to a loaded handgun. He then drank in the bar and was legally intoxicated when officers made contact with him and he wanted to drive away. He was taken into custody while the juveniles were turned over to a sober guardian.
