A Carbon County man entered guilty pleas on Monday afternoon in the county court to two counts of simple assault and harassment and one count each of criminal mischief and terroristic threats.

Allan Bruce Quarles, 30, of Jim Thorpe, entered the pleas before Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Quarles was facing other assault counts for incidents that occurred in Penn Forest Township and Beaver Meadows.

Quarles was charged on March 25, 2018, by state police at Hazleton for assaulting a woman in Beaver Meadows. In that case he pleaded to the mischief count and a summary offense of harassment with a simple assault charge dropped in a plea bargain with the district attorney’s office.

He was arrested on March 31, 2017, for an incident in Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, in which he assaulted a man at a residence in the township. In that case he pleaded to the threats charge. He was arrested on Feb. 5, 2017, for assaulting the same man at the same location. In that case he pleaded to simple assault, with charges of aggravated assault and harassment dropped in a plea deal. The fourth arrest was July 5, 2017, also in Penn Forest Township with a woman as the victim in a domestic incident. In that case he pleaded to simple assault and harassment with a charge of terroristic threats dropped in a plea deal. State police at Fern Ridge filed the charges in each case.

Quarles is currently an inmate in the county prison.

Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.
