Palmerton, Northwestern and Tamaqua all picked up boys basketball victories on Thursday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Jim Thorpe-Palmerton

Nate Dougherty’s 23 points helped lift Palmerton to a 56-48 win over Jim Thorpe in the consolation game of the Slatington Rotary Christmas Tournament.

The Bombers’ Justin Hosier followed with 19 points, while Kody Kratzer chipped in 12.

The Olympians’ Nate Rosahac finished with a game-high 25 points.

Two 20-point quarters propelled Northwestern to a 69-51 non-league victory over Hamburg.

Samuel Yadush scored 22 points to lead the Tigers, while Sean McCann and Deven Bollinger had 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Ethan Kennedy led the Hawks with 13 points. Reece Adam had 11 points.

Leila Hurley’s career-high 28 points sparked Jim Thorpe to a 61-27 non-conference win over Pen Argyl.

The Olympians’ Skyler Searfoss scored 12 points, while Olivia Smelas added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Kelly O’Brien had 11 points for the Knights.
