The father of a McAdoo man captured after fleeing police for three months after threatening to shoot the president and Northampton County district attorney admitted to harassing police.

Craig R. Christy, 55, of 23 S. Harrison St. rear, McAdoo, on Wednesday pleaded guilty before Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin to a misdemeanor charge of harassment — communicating repeatedly in another manner.

Representing himself, Christy spoke only to answer the routine questions asked of him by the judge.

Baldwin ordered a presentence investigation before sentencing Christy.

Christy, along with his son Shawn R. Christy, were charged with harassment by communication after the duo on Oct. 5, 2017, made repeated calls to the McAdoo and Kline Township police departments concerning an upcoming court case. Both men were warned, repeatedly, not to call, but continued to do so.

An additional summary charge of harassment was dropped in plea negotiations.

Shawn R. Christy, 27, was charged with one misdemeanor count of harassment and four summary counts. There is no indication in public records as to when he will face court on the charges.

McAdoo police officer Frederick J. Lahovski Jr. filed the charges against both men.

Shawn R. Christy, whose flight from justice took him through six states before he was captured in Ohio on Sept. 21, remains in Lackawanna County prison, awaiting court action in numerous cases stemming from his three months on the run.

Christy on Oct. 26 pleaded not guilty in U.S. Middle District Magistrate Court to federal charges related to his threats.

His most recent charges, filed in October by state police at Hazleton, stem from breaking and thefts he is accused of committing in Carbon County during July, August and September.

During a video arraignment on Oct. 26, District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly set bail at a total of $750,000.

Christy was pursued by local, state and federal authorities since June 12 after failing to appear for jury selection for his trial on charges he attacked the McAdoo mayor with a stick during an argument about snow removal.

Christy added to his woes when he posted on his Facebook page threatening to shoot President Donald Trump in the head and Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli, and threatening to kill police if they tried to arrest him.

After fleeing through Maryland, Virginia and New York.

He was found hiding in a ravine near Mansfield, Ohio, on Sept. 21.

He had a gun and a large knife when a K-9 nosed him out.
