St. Luke’s Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group

The Alzheimer Association Caregiver Support Group at St. Luke’s Palmerton and Gnaden Huetten campus meets monthly on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Upcoming dates are Sept. 24 in the cafeteria at the Palmerton campus, 135 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton; Oct. 29 and Nov. 26 at the Gnaden Huetten campus in the community room at 211 N. 12th St., Lehighton.

Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience, helping members feel better prepared to cope with their situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.

Donna Kravelk, a registered nurse on the Older Adult Behavioral Health Unit, will facilitate the group, which is intended to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.

The meetings are free and anyone seeking support and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and dementia is welcome to attend.

To register or for more information, email Kravelk at dmkatz407@verizon.net or call 610-826-1340.
