August 13, 1969 — Dave “Whitey” Williams belts a three-run homer and also gains the pitching win as Tamaqua rallies from a five-run deficit to gain a 7-5 victory over Nesquehoning in a Panther Valley Little League Tournament contest. Williams strikes out six batters and doesn’t allow any runs after entering the game as a reliever. Steve Pajakinas collects three hits and scores a run, while Brad Geiger adds two singles and a run scored. The winners, coached by Dick Jones, also receive a solo homer off the bat of Brian Turton.
