Skirmish to host Invasion of Normandy

The Invasion of Normandy was the largest invasion in history involving approximately 3 million troops crossing from England to the beaches of Normandy, France.

In a re-creation of that fateful landing, Skirmish will be hosting more than 5,000 players, spectators, and vendors on July 14 and 15.

Starting promptly at noon on Saturday, Skirmish’s five landing crafts – Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha, and Utah (named for the five beaches of the original invasion) will disgorge Allied warriors for their assault across 75 yards of wide open beachhead.

Unlike the original invasion, Skirmish has added a few bunkers, tanks and a disabled military helicopter for cover. This initial assault is the largest paintball battle in the world with over 1,000,000 shots fired in the first half hour of the game alone.

The madness doesn’t stop with the beach assault.

The Invasion of Normandy is a 3-day event that includes the largest paintball trade show in the industry, a warm up game on tonight in Skirmish’s two castles, the invasion on Saturday and Sunday and a stage show complete with an award ceremony and raffle in which players can win all the latest paintball guns and gear.

Skirmish has hosted The Invasion of Normandy for 16 years.
