Trinity highlights

Sunday worship includes recognition of Girl Scouts at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St. and begins at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Rich Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade begins at 10:45 a.m.

In the event of inclement weather which may lead to cancellations, look on the listings on WFMZ-TV or BRCTV Channel 13, plus a message will be recorded on the church phone.

“Breaking Bread” youth group for students in grades 7-12 will meet in the youth room Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and March 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. Led by Vicar Rich Bergen, the group has supper, Bible study with discussion and a service project.

A series of Wednesdays-in-Lent worship opportunities continue Wednesday with soup supper at 6 p.m. Worship at 7 p.m., “Listening for God’s Voice in the Wilderness,” is based on Taize liturgy with contemplative prayer.

For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, the Rev. Moore will share information at noon Sunday. An appointment may be arranged with Pastor Moore for those desiring church membership by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.

Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time at 10:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Monday: Kids Club, 6-7:15 p.m. each Monday.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: Revelation Bible study, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.

Friday: Wrapped in Prayer Ministry, 7 p.m.

Looking ahead:

• Free Children’s Easter Movie Event for the community, 2-3 p.m. March 17. “Super Book,” a video about Easter, will be shown as well as telling the Easter story using the Resurrection eggs. Treats will be provided for attending children.

• Minding Your P’s & Q’s (Pizza & Questions) 6:30 p.m. March 27, St. Peter’s Resource Center, Main Road, Franklin Township.

• Maundy Thursday Service (Holy Communion), 6:30 p.m. March 29.

• Good Friday Tenebrae Service, 7 p.m. March 30.

Clothing ministry is in need of new or gently used children’s clothing sizes infant to size 12. Drop off Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon at side door.

Spring bazaar

Lehighton Middle School PTO is holding its Spring Bazaar 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 24 at the middle school, 301 Beaver Run Road, Lehighton.

The bazaar includes a basket raffle and vendor and craft show.

Proceeds will benefit LAMS PTO and LAMS Students Chairs for Hope Auction Necessities Drive. Proceeds benefit the Bare Necessities Pantry and Family Promise of Carbon County.
