Trinity highlights

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. Music is provided by the Trinity Praise Band. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Rich Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday church school for students ages 3 through sixth grade and begins at 10:45 a.m.

Breaking Bread Youth Group for students in grades seven-12 meets from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the youth room. Led by Vicar Rich Bergen, the agenda is supper, Bible study, discussion, games and service project. Friends are welcome to attend.

A series of Wednesdays-in-Lent worship opportunities continue Wednesday with soup supper at 6 p.m. Worship at 7 p.m., “Listening for God’s Voice in the Wilderness,” is based on Taize liturgy with contemplative prayer. Midweek worship is weekly through March 21.

For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity or arranging a baptismal date, an appointment may be arranged with Pastor Moore by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.

St. John’s Evangelical

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W., Lehighton, will hold worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, and Sunday school and confirmation at 10:15 a.m.

Lenten Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28. This Joint Lenten Service at St. John’s will includes guests from Ben Salem, St. Peter’s, Zion Stone and St. John’s. Following the service there will be a reception and fellowship.

The Youth Group all-you-can-eat pasta dinner will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. March 3.

The annual congregational meeting will take place March 18, following the regular worship service.

Bethany EC Church

Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time at 10:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Monday: Kids Club, 6-7:15 p.m. each Monday.

Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.

Wednesday: prayer meeting, 7 p.m.

Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.
