Carbon board sets annual salaries for court employees

The Carbon County Salary Board met for its annual reorganizational session last week in the Courthouse Annex, Jim Thorpe, and established the following positions and salaries within the Court of Common Pleas.

Members of the salary board include commissioners Wayne E. Nothstein, Tom J. Gerhard and William J. O’Gurek, Controller Robert M. Crampsie and, for voting court-related positions, President Judge Roger N. Nanovic.

The annual salary of a judge of the Court of Common Pleas shall be $180,299.

President Judge Nanovic will be paid $181,086 and Judges Steven R. Serfass and Joseph J. Matika will be paid $180,299. All three are state employees.

Other salaries are:

Court administration: One law clerk, $34,088.60 per year; two law clerks, $33,105.80 per year; one temporary law clerk, $33,105.80 per year; one temporary law clerk, $32,141.20 per year; one certified court reporter, $28.03 per hour; one certified court reporter, $26.43 per hour; one certified court reporter, $24.93 per hour; one lead judicial secretary, $22.60 per hour; one judicial secretary, $20.09 per hour; one judicial secretary, $17.87 per hour; one administrative assistant, $15.58 per hour; one administrative assistant, $14.69 per hour; one department clerk III, $12.68 per hour; 6 tipstaffs, $111.25 per diem; and one summer law clerk, $13 per hour.

Court computer information systems: one director/computer systems, $52,379.60 per year; and one computer assistant, $17.35 per hour.

District judge: district judges Joseph Homanko, Casimir Kosciolek, William Kissner and Eric Schrantz, $90,154 each (they are state employees); one district judge office supervisor I, $23.26 per hour; one district judge office supervisor I, $22.58 per hour; one district judge office supervisor I, $20.06 per hour, one district judge office supervisor I, $15.38 per hour; one district judge secretary II, $19.51 per hour; one district judge secretary II, $16.85 per hour; one district judge secretary II, $16.36 per hour; one district judge secretary II, $14.13 per hour; one district judge secretary I, $13.85 per hour; one district judge secretary I, $13.45 per hour; one district judge secretary I, $12.68 per hour; one district judge secretary II, $12.31 per hour; and two district judge secretary I, $11.95 per hour.

Adult probation: one chief adult probation officer, $67,558.40 per year; one adult probation technician I, $17.18 per hour; one adult probation specialist, $12.07 per hour; and one part-time adult probation department clerk I, $10.30 per hour.

Juvenile probation: one chief juvenile probation officer, $65,592.80 per year; one juvenile court secretary II, $15.43 per hour; and one clerical specialist, $10.84 per hour.

Domestic Relations: one domestic relations director, $50,250.20 per year; one domestic relations assistant director, $22.49 per hour; one intake officer II, $21.52 per hour; one domestic relations support representative, $16.20 per hour; one domestic relations specialist II, $16.05 per hour; one domestic relations specialist II, $14.26 per hour; one domestic relations specialist II, $11.95 per hour; and one domestic relations specialist I, $10.84 per hour.

Adult probation (AFSCME): one deputy chief adult probation officer, $33.02 per hour; one probation officer II/Gagnon hearing officer, $27.18 per hour; two probation officer II, $24.39 per hour; one probation officer II, $23.67 per hour; one probation officer II, $22.34 per hour; one probation officer II, $20.42 per hour; one probation officer II, $17.39 per hour; one probation officer, $15.45 per hour; and three probation officer I, $15 per hour.

Juvenile court (AFSCME): one deputy chief juvenile probation officer, $27.66 per hour; one probation officer II, $25.12 per hour; one probation officer II, $24.39 per hour; and one probation officer II, $19.92 per hour.

Domestic Relations (AFSCME): one domestic relations officer II, $19.11 per hour; one domestic relations officer I, $16.65 per hour; and two domestic relations officer I, $15.19 per hour.
