Police investigating burglary, thefts

A burglary and four theft cases required the assistance of state police at the Lehighton barracks.

• A burglary happened between midnight Dec. 8 and midnight Dec. 9 in the 300 block of Schick lane, Ross Township. The victim, a 76-year-old Saylorsburg woman, told police she found a coffee cup on the floor of her garage. Police did not say whether or not it was determined if anything was missing from the residence.

• Police are investigating an identity theft incident that was reported to them on Dec. 12 at in the 100 block of Trach Road, Kresgeville, Polk Township. The victim, a 76-year-old Kresgeville man, reported someone tried to open a PayPal account in his name but was unsuccessful.

• Police are investigating the theft of about 10 gallons of diesel fuel from a box truck on the property of a 59-year-old man from Palmerton. The theft happened between 8 p.m. Dec. 15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in the 500 block of Little Gap Road.

• A firearm was reported missing from the residence of a 44-year-old Ross Township man. Police said the incident happened in the 200 block of Chestnut Drive South. Police said they were told the firearm was taken between December 2016, and February 2017.

• In the fifth case, police said a 55-year-old Kresgeville man is a suspect in a theft incident that was reported to have happened between midnight Oct. 13 and midnight Oct. 14 in the 1000 block of Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. Police said the man is believed to have taken a credit card from a 75-year-old Kresgeville woman and used it to make several unauthorized purchases.
