Jessie’s Girl Friday at the Peak; Saturday, Sunday it’s Get the Led Out

Grab your spandex and leg warmers and get ready to welcome Jessie’s Girl back to Penn’s Peak at 8 p.m. Friday for a Back to the Eighties Show.

Jessie’s Girl’s primary lineup includes a team of New York City’s top rock and pop vocalists: Up-and-coming superstar Jenna O’Gara, off-Broadway’s Chris Hall and renown “Sting” impersonator Mark Rinzel. Not to mention frequent appearances by Broadway’s own Constantine Maroulis, the Tony nominated star of “Rock of Ages” and American Idol finalist.

They are backed by one of the tightest bands in the city consisting of 20-plus year veterans of the NYC music scene: Eric Presti on guitar, Paul “Sky” Armento on keys, Drew Mortali on bass, and Michael Maenza on drums, each with dozens of credits performing with authentic ’80s icons who made the music famous to begin with.

Jessie’s Girl is one of the hardest working bands around. In addition to their weekly Saturday night gig in Manhattan, the band’s weeks are filled with high-profile appearances and private events around the U.S.

Expect a performance like no other and a party you have to experience to believe.

Ring in the new year

Get the Led Out returns for two shows, including a 21-and-over show on New Year’s Eve.

The band performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, and at 9 p.m. Sunday.

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage.

The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, Get the Led Out re-creates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album, GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants — a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.

Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” Get The Led Out offers a strong focus on the early years. The band also touches on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert. The band also includes a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites such as “Tangerine” and the “Battle of Evermore” being performed in their original instrumentation with guest singer Diana DeSantis joining the band.

GTLO has amassed a strong national touring history, having performed at major club and PAC venues across the country. GTLO’s approach to its performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classical performance.

“Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era,” says lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. “I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”

A GTLO concert mimics the “light and shade” that are the embodiment of “The Mighty Zep.” Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event.

A New Year’s Eve VIP package is available for purchase in addition to the price of the tickets. It consists of a 7 p.m. VIP entry, a commemorative T-shirt, sound check preshow “party,” one-hour open bar and hors d’oeuvres and a Q&A session with the band.

Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only, no phone orders.
