Golden Agers

The Oct. 23 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers was attended by 37 members for the annual Halloween affair. Many were dressed in their Halloween costumes. Appropriate songs were sung for the season.

Members celebrating birthdays for the months of May through December were recognized.

The annual Christmas party will be held Nov. 19 at La Dolce Casa Restaurant in Tamaqua beginning at 1 p.m.

The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall. This will be the final meeting for the year.

Senior center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Nov. 13 to 17 is:

Monday: Roast pork and mashed squash or buffalo chicken sandwich

Tuesday: Creamed chicken and mashed potatoes or barbecue chicken salad

Wednesday: Turkey, sweet potatoes, filling, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie

Thursday: Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes or turkey Swiss wrap

Friday: Fish almandine and scalloped potatoes or Asian chicken salad

The senior center has also announced upcoming events for Nov. 13 to 17.

Now You Have It Now You Don’t on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.; birthday and bingo on Nov. 14 at 11 a.m.; Erin Fox from The Palmerton will be at the center for a mini health fair on Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.; a Boscov’s shopping trip on CCCT at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, the center will be open for lunch and games; movie and popcorn on Nov. 17 starting at 10 a.m.

Lansford

Leaf collection

The Lansford Public Works Department will be collecting leaves on Mondays throughout November, weather permitting.

Leaves must be raked to the curb.
