The West End Food Pantry is holding its second annual Stomp Out Hunger 5K Run/Fun Walk on Nov. 5 at the Blue Ridge Vineyards in Saylorsburg.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. featuring a 5K run. At noon a 1-mile fun walk will wind through the scenic grounds and vineyards of the winery.

“Last year we had hoped to bring awareness to the pantry and break even with the Stomp Out Hunger event,” said pantry Director Karena Thek. “We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to raise money last year.”

Thek said the proceeds from the event will benefit the West End Food Pantry, which helps struggling families in the area.

Preregistered participants in the event will receive a T-shirt and complimentary wine tasting and commemorative wineglass if they are over the age of 21.

There will be food, raffles and awards for participants in the fun walk, including oldest walker, funniest costume, best costume, best socks, best group costume and most spirited.

All kids participating will receive a prize as well.
