October 16, 1971 — Gary Grant scores two touchdowns and Marian’s defense posts a shutout in a 26-0 victory over Cardinal Brennan. Grant, who helps the Colts rack up 275 rushing yards in the contest, reaches the end zone on a 2-yard run and also catches a 46-yard scoring pass from Terry McElmoyle. The Colts, coached by Joe Leonzi, also receive a 1-yard TD plunge from Thad Kosciolek and a 69-yard scoring scamper from Mike Murphy. McElmoyle also intercepts a pass on defense to stop a Brennan drive and preserve the shutout.
