Weatherly Council

Weatherly Borough Council discussed the following items recently:

• Reminded residents to sign up for Swiftreach notification system if they have not already. The borough uses the text-based system to notify residents of snow emergencies and other incidents.

• Reminded residents not to sweep leaves into the street, so borough workers can spend more time collecting leaves and less time cleaning storm drains. Borough officials will notify residents with a date that they will be picking up leaves.

• Announced the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation work on Main Street bridge will be delayed, possibly until late October.

It was set to begin Sept. 25. borough Manager Harold Pudliner said he was told there will be flaggers directing traffic 24 hours a day during construction. Harold Farrow suggested a traffic light be put in place.

• Approved Rotary Club to use the park pavilion for Halloween.
