Twelve Lehighton Area School District students checked out fine after a bus they were riding on was involved in a crash following school Wednesday afternoon.

The bus was on Mahoning Mountain Road in East Penn Township, according to witnesses."All of our students were evaluated on site and we had an administrator present," Superintendent Jonathan Cleaver said Thursday morning. "When the students got to school on Thursday, they were also seen by the school nurse for further evaluation."According to Cleaver, the students were coming from the middle and high schools."Thankfully everyone was fine and George's Transportation did a great job getting a second bus out there."Parents were notified individually by administrators, Cleaver added.State police responded to the crash but have yet to release details.
