Free night of poetry and music at NCC Monroe

Northampton Community College will present a free night of poetry and music at its Monroe Campus, 2411 Route 715, Tannersville, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 26 in Pocono Hall, Room 108.

The band, La Cuchina, combines jazz, funk, Latin and rock influences and has played with world-renowned artists including Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Tito Puente and more.The musicians will be sharing stories from decades of playing music with legends interspersed with an exciting live concert.Dr. Marjorie Maddox, Lock Haven University professor of English and creative writing, will share poems from her latest collection of poetry as well as discuss her experiences as a writer and college educator.Light refreshments will be provided.
