The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. held its annual summer picnic on July 25 at St. Peter's Grove. President Bill Morrison conducted the business session and provided the inspirational reading "Nothing on Earth."Entertainment was provided by Gene Morrison, and the food was catered by Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven. Members brought desserts for sharing.Festivities included a Chinese auction.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville. The next meeting will be held Aug. 8.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Sidewalk saleThe annual Tamaqua Sidewalk Sale, sponsored by the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 5. The event will also feature a townwide community yard sale.Free snow cones and maps will be available at Revive Community Fellowship table, which will be located at 35 W. Broad St.In addition to the businesses that will be open and the yard sales, the Tamaqua Historical Society Museum, 118 W. Broad St., will be open and the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., will have a book and bake sale.Heisler's concertsHeisler's Dairy Bar in the Lewistown Valley is continuing its free summer concert series, "A Night in the Country Concerts."The next concert will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundayand will feature The New Individuals.The final event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 13 and will feature Ann Marie Calabrese.Free playRevive Community Fellowship will present a production of "It is Well" at 6 p.m. Aug. 13, at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.
