Strawbridge Studios will be taking student photographs in the Lehighton Area School District through the 2019-20 school year per a contract approved by the school board Monday night.

According to district officials, the cost for photographs ranges from $7 to $15 depending on different available packages. Parent teacher organizations at both the middle school and elementary schools reviewed the proposals before the district selected Strawbridge."We want to thank those groups for taking the time to do this," Superintendent Jonathan Cleaver said. "We, as an administration, could have gone through and made a selection, but it was important for the PTOs, who have a vested interest in this decision, to participate in the process."In other action items Monday, the board approved:• Paying $2,161,803.75 from corresponding construction accounts for work regarding the athletic stadium, middle school, high school and elementary center.• Approved occupational tax refunds for Amin Ghali and Priscilla Barry.• Approved a contract with Lehigh Carbon County Community College for the district to supply transportation to the Carbon County Shine After-School Program held at Shull-David Elementary School. The district will be reimbursed by the 21st Century grant for the difference between the state transportation reimbursement amount and the actual cost of the transportation.• Approved a contract with Lehigh Carbon Community College for the district to supply meals to the Carbon County Shine After-School Program held at Shull-David Elementary School. The district will be reimbursed $3.45 per meal served.• Approved the hires of Kerri Miller, social worker/transition coordinator, $45,850; Melissa Bierman, part-time cleaner, $8.66 per hour; Linda Guy, part-time cleaner, $8.66 per hour; Karen Geige, part-time cleaner, $8.66 per hour; and Terrence Frantz, part-time cleaner, $8.66 per hour. Bierman and Guy also resigned their positions as lunch aides.• Approved handbooks for the high school, middle school and elementary schools for the 2017-18 school year.• Approved an affiliation agreement with Clarks Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College & Seminary) for the purpose of providing experiential learning for education students for the 2017-18 school year.
