Restaurant owner scores $20K on scratch-off ticket

When your scratch-off lottery ticket is called "$100 or $1,000," you would think that would be the limit to your winnings.

But that's not the case. When Lehighton's Diggity Dogs and More owner Keith Schaffer played the $10 game and came up with a $20,000 prize on Monday afternoon, his reaction was simple but poignant."I thought, 'Holy s---!'" Schaffer said.A fan of both instant and online lottery - games like Cash 5 and Powerball - Schaffer wasn't expecting too much. The $20,000 prize is one of 10 available for the new game's run. The top prize is $300,000, with five currently available."I just picked it out, and there it was," Schaffer said when asked if there was any special reason for selecting that particular ticket.Schaffer isn't planning on anything too extraordinary with the winnings, preferring to skip the cliche vacation or car in lieu of something more practical and potentially more profitable."I'll probably just invest it back here in the restaurant," he said. But Schaffer's wasn't the only winning ticket of the day.His grandson, Levi, 6, used the very same quarter that was used on the "$100 or $1,000" ticket to play another game, where he won $5."I just think today is my lucky day," Levi said.
